Lalique 32nd America's cup sculpture

£495.00
The 32nd challenge for the America's Cup took place in 2007 in Valencia, Spain. The challenge was won by a Swiss team, beating their rivals from New Zealand. To hail the 32nd running of the America's Cup, Lalique commissioned Javier Mariscal to design an official collection of objects inspired by the competition. The result was four pieces … a paperweight, a vase, a tumbler and this sculpture. All were only made for a short period of time, so all are quite rare. The sculpture measures approximately 18 cm (7") tall. The base is etched with a representation of the America's cup, and the words "Valencia 32nd America's Cup" and "Mariscal for Lalique". The sculpture is in excellent condition. There are no chips, cracks or repairs. It does not look as though it has ever left its box. This sculpture is presented in its original box, which shows little signs of wear.
