Victorian silver caddy spoon, London 1871

Antique Victorian silver caddy spoon of plain design. The handle has a simple gadrooned edge.

The caddy spoon is fully hallmarked for London 1871, and the makers Chawner & Co (George William Adams). The Victoria head duty stamp is also present.
All hallmarks are crisp and clear.

Chawner & Co worked from Hosier Lane, Smithfield, London. The company was sold to Holland, Aldwinckle & Slater in 1883.


The caddy spoon is 8.6 cm (3.4") long. It weighs 14 grams.
All measurements are approximate.


The caddy spoon is in very good condition, with only a very small ding to the bowl.
