Victorian silver butter knife, London 1876

Victorian silver butter knife featuring an overall cut design to the front of the handle and the knife blade. The design incorporates a blank cartouche. The knife blade has a gentle curve.

The butter knife is fully hallmarked for London 1876, and the makers Chawner & Co (George William Adams). The Victoria head duty stamp is also present.
All hallmarks are crisp and clear.

Chawner & Co worked from Hosier Lane, Smithfield, London. The company was sold to Holland, Aldwinckle & Slater in 1883.

The butter knife is approximately 19.6 cm (7.8") long. It weighs 46g.

The butter knife is in very good overall condition.
