Dundee Scottish provincial toddy ladle, c1830

£310.00
Antique Dundee Scottish provincial silver toddy ladle. The finial has not been engraved/personalised. The toddy ladle bears the hallmarks for Alex Cameron, and the Dundee town mark of a pot of lilies struck three times. The Richard Turner reference book on Scottish provincial silver dates Alex's work to c1818-1849. The toddy ladle is 15 cm (5.9") long. The bowl is 4 cm (1.6") by 4 cm (1.6") and is 1.3 cm (.5") deep. It weighs 24 grams. All measurements are approximate. The toddy ladle is in very good condition, with just light overall scratching commensurate with age and usage. Please study all photos as these form an important part of the description.
