Danish silver sugar sifter, 1909

£65.00

This Danish silver sugar sifter features a geometric pattern gilded pierced bowl, on a ladle shaped handle that has a cast twisted thread design to the edge of the finial. The underside of the finial has been lightly engraved "EF".

The sifter is fully hallmarked with the Danish .925 silver hallmark of three towers, under which is the number "09" for 1909. It also bears the maker's mark "CH" for C.Holm from Copenhagen, and the assayer's mark "CFH" for Christian F Heisse.
All hallmarks are crisp and clear.

The ladle shaped sifter is 17.8 cm (7") long. The pierced and gilded bowl is 5 cm (2") in diameter and 1.5 cm (.6") deep. It weighs 36 grams.
All measurements are approximate.

The sifter is in very good condition, with only light overall scratching commensurate with age.
