Robin Grover-Jacques: Through the storm

£595.00
"Through the storm" - Farne Islands Lighthouse. “This piece is inspired by a trip to the Farne Islands off the Northumberland coast. This magical collection of islands provides refuge to hundreds upon hundreds of migrant sea birds - terns and puffins amongst them. “The islands sit low in the sea and turbulent winter waters come crashing on to their shorelines, a very hazardous place for seafarers! There are a number of lighthouses in this area, sentinels against the elements, guardians of the seafarers, sending out signals far into the darkness, warning of treacherous waters, peppered with rocky outcrops which have claimed so many over the centuries.” … R G-J This is an original acrylic by York artist Robin Grover-Jacques. You can read more about Robin by following the links on the "Special notes" tab below. The picture is framed in a plain unglazed box frame. The framed picture measures 84.5 cm (33.25") by 53.5 cm (21") … the actual picture is 81 cm (32") by 50 cm (19.75"). All measurements are approximate.
