Robin Grover-Jacques: Storm

£595.00
"Storm" - Whernside, Yorkshire Dales National Park. “This is one of a series of three canvases that are remembrances of an extremely wintery walk up Whernside (the highest of the Yorkshire three peaks) back in February this year. It was the week of strong and bitterly cold easterly winds and fabulous snow showers…the ‘Beast from the East’ as it was coined! “On the day of the walk, we had to think twice about setting off, the journey to Whernside was not too bad, but distant snow showers could be seen approaching and, with the wind chill, temperatures were at minus 7 degrees – just a bit chilly. But we decided to go ahead and I am so glad I did. Totally exhilarating! We had to walk at 45 degrees into the wind just to stay upright, freezing cold winds, frequent blizzard conditions, the snow coming at such speed it stung your eyes, ice covered paths, but such fantastic views…looking forward to next time!” … R G-J This is an original acrylic by York artist Robin Grover-Jacques. You can read more about Robin by following the links on the "Special notes" tab below. The picture is framed in a plain unglazed box frame. The framed picture measures 84.5 cm (33.25") by 53.5 cm (21") … the actual picture is 81 cm (32") by 50 cm (19.75"). All measurements are approximate.
