Frank Vernon Martin: The Perils of Pauline

£725.00
"The Perils of Pauline" is an original signed pencil sketch by Frank Martin. This is a preliminary sketch for the 1970 woodcut “The Perils of Pauline”, which was subsequently printed in five colours. This most famous of all serials was released by Pathe in April 1914 and was a huge success. The long-suffering heroine was Pearl White, who later made other serials before retiring from the screen in 1924 to live in France. You can read more about Frank by following the links on the "Special notes" tab below. The framed picture measures 59 cm (23.2") by 82.5 cm (32.5"). All measurements are approximate.
