Frank Vernon Martin: The lily pond

"The lily pond" is a signed limited edition coloured etching on steel of Doris Hill by Frank Martin. Doris Hill (1905-1976) was born in Roswell, New Mexico. After working as a Vaudeville dancer she moved to Hollywood in the early 1920s. Her first film was the 1926 silent ‘Is That Nice’ with George O’Hara. Her roles were mostly in Westerns, including ‘Sons of the Saddle’ with Ken Maynard. In total she appeared in over 35 films up to 1934, with her final role in ‘Ridin’ Gents’.
