Kate Buckley

Kate Buckley is a recent first-class graduate from the Contemporary Craft Degree at York College, and a UK winner in the Eleanor Worthington International Art Prize in Tertiary Education, Italy and the UK.

She is a member of the British Origami Society, and is currently Artist in Residence at York College.

Since 2017 her work has been exhibited in Thirsk, York, Scunthorpe, Harrogate, Newcastle, London and Urbino, Italy.

Her recent work comprises of a collection of sculptural porcelain pieces – light, shadow and the art of the fold.

Through her sculptural porcelain Kate strives to express the delicacy of paper and how geometry, repetition and folding capture the interplay of shadow and light, and embrace the space between them.
